SHERYL N. SHATZ Ms.
Shatz received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from
the University of California Berkeley, and a Masters Degree in Civil
Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin. She
is a State of California registered Civil Engineer (1989) and
Geotechnical Engineer (1995). Professional Experience Ms. Shatz has worked as a geotechnical engineer in southern California for over twenty years with extensive experience in Ventura, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles Counties. She has worked on projects ranging from single lot residential to multi-tract hillside residential to commercial and industrial projects. Her experience includes mid-rise buildings, educational facilities, public works projects, roadways and bridges. She has evaluated shallow and deep foundations, temporary excavations, static and dynamic settlement, and expansive and collapsible soils. Also, she has performed detailed stability analyses of numerous slopes and landslides. She has performed seismic risk studies, formulated site specific response spectra and performed liquefaction analyses. Her experience covers all aspects of project work from feasibility, field investigations, laboratory studies, project construction and engineering review. She has conducted numerous forensic investigations for individuals, and insurance carriers regarding structure movement or distress caused by expansive soils, ground shaking, and settlement.
