Geotechnical Engineer Qualifications Mr.
Blunck received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from
the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (1977), a Masters Degree in Business
Administration from California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks,
California (1986), and a Certificate in Toxic and Hazardous Materials
Control and Management from the University of California at Los Angeles
(1993). He is a State of
California registered Civil Engineer (CE 31673)(1980) and Geotechnical
Engineer (GE 151)(1987).
Professional
Experience
Mr.
Blunck has over thirty years experience as a geotechnical engineer
in Southern California. He
has been the principal geotechnical engineer on a wide variety of
projects involving complex and adverse geotechnical and geologic
conditions. His
geotechnical engineering experience includes large residential and
commercial tracts involving hillside grading of one to over two million
cubic yards of soil. He has
extensive experience in multi-story industrial and commercial
developments, water storage reservoirs, subterranean construction,
roadways, towers, recreation facilities, and public works projects.
He has performed detailed studies of numerous slopes and
landslides including evaluation of slope movement and the remediation
of large landslides. Also,
he has evaluated site liquefaction potential, shored excavations,
expansive soil movement, static and dynamic settlement, and foundation
and pile bearing capacities. His
experience as a principal engineer covers all aspects of geotechnical
project involvement from feasibility and field investigations through
project construction. As a geotechnical engineer, he has studied structure movement
or distress caused by landslides, expansive soils, liquefaction,
earthquakes, and settlement. In
addition, he has had responsible participation in environmental site
assessments.
